I’m glad you’ve decided to stop by my page! I’ve practiced yoga for many years at home and in the studio. One thing I’ve learned is that life is interconnected. That is, my experience in my body is connected to my feelings, my feelings are connected to my mind, and my mind is connected to my relationships. Relationships are the building blocks for a sense of belonging, community, emotional maturity and self-growth.
My expertise is marital, family, individual and couples therapy. Many of my clients actively participate in yoga while finding support, healing and understanding in therapy. Therapy is not about “getting rid” of symptoms, “fixing you”, waging war or getting control of anything. Instead, it’s about making peace by listening to and understanding your symptoms. And, curiously enough, when you listen to your symptoms, rather than fear or avoid them, your struggles become a great opportunity to empower you, while decreasing the power of the symptom.
I use a variety of techniques in therapy, trying to find what will work best for you. These techniques are likely to include dialogue, interpretation, cognitive reframing, awareness exercises, self-monitoring experiments, visualization, journal keeping, drawing, and reading books. Even one of these techniques will increase your chances of staying calm and relaxed in any situation and that is a crucial element in making your life satisfying and healthy. In order for the therapy to be most successful, you will have to work on things we talk about in-between our sessions and at home.
