Corbin Stacy began his Hatha (forceful) Yoga journey at the Barkan Method of Fort Lauderdale with Jimmy Barkan in 2003. He moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL from NYC when he relocated for his full time job as an Inflight Crewmember at JetBlue Airways in November of 2002. Aside from flying the friendly skies, Corbin’s life path has afforded him the opportunity to train in the art of Tae-Kwon-Do, learn and perform numerous types of dance professionally, acting and modeling, gymnastics, as well as high school and college cheerleading. He grew up in Fredericksburg, VA and went to college at Middle Tennessee State University to study Mass Communications. Corbin also holds an FCC license from the Colombia School of Broadcasting in Washington, DC.
In July of 2011, Corbin was certified to teach the Barkan Method Level I of Hot Yoga and in October of 2011, was certified to teach the Barkan Method Hot Vinyasa; Levels II & III. Corbin is registered with the Yoga Alliance and he, like many other of Jimmy Barkan’s instructors, makes every effort to practice the Barkan Method with him regularly.
Taking an amped twist to the Barkan Method, you can always find Corbin teaching “Sunday Funday” on Sunday afternoons at 12 o’clock. This is a perfect setting for those powerful “Warrior Yogis” who can shed their egos and enjoy a high energy Barkan Method Hot Vinyasa flow with great music and a lot of personality. This is certainly something that will leave you craving more and more of the BARKAN METHOD!!!
Two of Corbin’s favorite quotes are: “Infinite possibilities” and “Release what no longer serves you!” … He is looking forward to seeing you on the mat!
ONE LOVE ~ NAMASTE!!
