I first started taking yoga in February 2019 at Barkan because it was a way for me to spend time with my brother. Before that I had never taken a class. It was really hard! I felt tired and I thought that the heat was too much for me. When I looked around the room I thought, “These people are crazy. How can they do this?” After three days, the room didn’t feel too hot and I thought, “Maybe I can do this.” Then I started to love it. Now I practice in the studio and at home so that I can improve my postures. I practice yoga because it makes me feel healthy. For me, it’s about balance, trying to put into action what I learn from yoga, and besides it’s a good option for exercise and just like when I got started, I can still be with my brother”….Jose”
