In our previous blogs we have discussed the many benefits of hot yoga in Fort Lauderdale. You may be ready to whip on your yoga pants and head out to your first class, but  before you do that, there are a few things that you should know. Hot yoga can make you feel awesome, but if you don’t come prepared for your class, it can make for an uncomfortable experience. At the Barkan Method, our goal is to help you to get the most out of our hot yoga classes in Ft. Lauderdale, which is why we have come up with this list of tips to prepare for your first class:

  • Drink plenty of water- In your hot yoga class you will sweat like you have never sweat before. Ensure that you arrive to class well-hydrated, but be careful to not fill up your bladder right before, as we are sure that many of the postures you will perform are going to be uncomfortable when you have to go. 
  • Dress properly- After a few minutes in one of our hot yoga classes, you will quickly find out why most people wear as little as possible. Baggy clothes will only become heavy and uncomfortable from all of your sweat, so it is recommended to wear tighter fitting workout clothes.
  • Bring a towel- As we already stated, you will sweat A LOT. It can be difficult to get in and out of postures if you are slick from sweat, so bringing a towel with you is a must.
