Hi Everyone,

Lately I keep seeing posts on social media saying Hot Pilates is replacing Hot Yoga. Teachers and studio owners keep asking me about it, and I see Hot Pilates classes filling up in the studios I visit too. So in this video I ask the real question: is it actually true?

After 45 years in the hot room, I have a view on it, and I share it honestly. I try to be fair. Pilates is doing some things very well, and there’s plenty we can learn from it. I also try to be a little funny, because, honestly, they borrowed our hot room.

For teachers and studio owners, I talk about what this trend means and what I think we should do about it. For students deciding between the two, I hope it helps you choose with more confidence.

I also touch on something about our own practice that I believe we may have stopped saying out loud. I won’t give it away here, but I think it matters.

This is the first video in a four part series on where Hot Yoga stands today. If this one speaks to you, the next ones will too.

In Spirit, Jimmy
